Ruminations on work.
I came upon this list via what else... e-mail. Anyway, it struck me
as amusing but way too short. I’ve added a few of my own, but please help
me expand the list with more work-related ruminations (your own or
acquired elsewhere).
-
The first 90% of a project takes 90% of your time; the last 10% takes the
other 90% of your time.
-
If you can’t get your work done in 24 hours, work nights.
-
If it wasn’t for the last minute, nothing would ever get done.
-
Getting the job done is no excuse for not continuing to work.
-
No matter how much you do, you never do enough.
-
If you can’t work hard, at least work smart, and vice versa.
-
If a cluttered desk is the sign of a cluttered mind, what is an empty desk
the sign of?
-
He’s not lazy. He’s motivationally challenged.
-
Why is there never enough time to do the job right the first time, but
always time to redo it the right way?
-
The 80–20 rule: 80 percent of the people do 20 percent of the work.
