Work Flow

I am experienced at jumping into a project at any point in its development, encompassing any or all of the following:

• Creating proposals and plan documentation.
• Developing creative concepts, alone or with your creative team.
• Scoping out project components.
• Executing a creative concept you furnish.
• Writing to specification (i.e., word counts).
• Researching, interviewing, and writing from scratch.
• Taking raw written material you or the client furnish and polishing it into text that’s inviting, appealing, and understandable.
• Proofreading and providing quality assurance.

In general, it’s been my experience that, the earlier my involvement with a project, the better the finished product.

Value Guarantee

The product I develop for you must satisfy your standard of quality. If not, I’ll rework it until it’s right, or, if I’m still unable to meet your expectation, you won’t be charged for whatever you don’t use. Put another way, if you’re not happy with it, I’m not happy with it. It should be understood that revisions related to both quality and accuracy of information are still a natural, expected step in the iterative creative development process, and are therefore generally considered billable. It should also be noted that planning meetings, research, and other information-gathering activities are billable if they are considered to add value to the project.

Confidentiality Guarantee

I personally guarantee that no proprietary information, neither of your firm nor of your clients, shall be communicated outside of the designated project team. I shall represent myself and my role to clients as you prefer, and shall initiate no contact with them except as you authorize, during and after the project. Similarly, the identity of other firms that I work with and their clients, as well as their respective proprietary information, shall remain confidential.

Pricing and Terms

While I charge most services by the hour, publishing a set rate is meaningless without a sense of how long it takes me to complete a project. It is therefore generally more appropriate to quote a dollar amount (or range) based on the anticipated scope of the project, documenting this scope as assumptions where possible. Work falling within the scope of the assignment will be billed as actual hours, not to exceed the maximum amount quoted. Work beyond this scope is discussed, requoted, and approved before proceeding. Billing will occur at the completion of a project, unless it’s a project spanning two or more months, in which case billing will occur monthly. Payment terms are net 30 days. I request that you furnish me with at least three copies of the finished product for my portfolio.
